Lucknow metro Construction work began on 27 September 2014 along the 8.5 km (5.3mi) stretch from Transport Nagar to Charbagh Railway Station. After computer of the construction work in less that three years, the commercial operation of the metro started on 5 September 2017 . the city residents got the gift of traveling by metro for the first time. The owner of Lucknow Metro: Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited is a 50:50 joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh and 3 ambitious metro projects under its aegis, namely, Lucknow Metro, Kanpur Metro and Agra Metro.
